Cathy Moon is a wife, mom,and a successful graduate of public schools. One of her elementary school teachers had a huge impact on her decision to join Future Teachers of America and to earn a BA in Education. Ms. Moon was inspired to run for the school board while attending a presentation by Superintendent LaShakia Moore, where the enthusiasm for Flagler Schools was contagious. Superintendent Moore’s leadership has Flagler Schools on a trajectory toward excellence and Cathy wants to be part of the team! Ms. Moon has directly managed a budget of $280M, is skilled in Continuous Improvement, and highly experienced at improving Operation Efficiency to drive down expenses without layoffs or service cuts.

- Oversaw nationwide transportation and logistics operations across rail and road networks.
- Earned a bachelor’s degree in health and safety education, a graduate certificate in HR, and an MBA
- Combined operational expertise, fiscal management, and people-centered leadership throughout her career.
- Small business owner in Palm Coast, gaining firsthand understanding of local economic and community needs.

Why Am I Running?
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic public servant, parent, and advocate for Flagler County Schools and students, bringing excitement to every initiative I undertake. I hold a BA in Health and Safety Education, a Graduate Certificate in Human resources and an MBA. I am running because I am committed to using my leadership skills and experience to do
everything possible to ensure Flagler Schools are the best choice for Flagler families.
I am deeply inspired by several educators during my public education journey, as they ignited in me a lifelong love of learning. I am fueled by excitement for the future of Flagler County, and I believe that fostering a challenging, educational environment where students are and will feel supported is paramount to their personal and professional success after graduation. I am deeply committed to the safety, education, and well-being of each student and educator as my highest priority.
I am engaged with school activities, educators, parents, and the community. I will be accessible and responsive to the community and focus on clear communications.
It is my top priority to ensure that each student is served in the best capacity possible based on their individual needs.
